DEMO 4: Now on Godot! (FINALLY)

This demo took a long while to finish--almost HALF A YEAR--but the game is finally now on the Godot Engine (and darn, I missed the one-year anniversary of the first demo by more than one week)!

I'll just make this quick: everything from the previous demo has been recreated alongside a few new additions.

  • As a dragon, pressing the Crouch button towards the top of your jump or as you fall will make you fall faster.
    • Landing on slopes while fast-falling will make you instantly start sliding down it.
    • Landing on flat ground while fast falling will instantly charge your high jump for a split second.
  • As a mage, landing on a slope will increase or decrease your stored speed, which is now being dubbed the "Slipstream".
    • This was inspired by a physics quirk in the original Unity builds.
  • As a dragon, holding the Crouch button as you climb up a ledge will instantly make you slide, similar to the ledge snap.
  • As a mage, the Magic Blast projectile no longer carries over your vertical inertia, making it easier to aim while jumping.
  • The crouch guarding mechanic has been reworked as a new shield ability.
    • Similar extra abilities coming soon...
  • Previous levels were given minor layout changes.
  • Added a new prologue level (this is the last one, I swear) that properly introduces the Temper Meter alongside a death condition where taking damage while the meter is too high or low causes you to lose a life.
    • Checkpoints have also been added.
    • Ch. 0-3 no longer features the Temper Meter in order to simplify the learning curve of switching between mage and dragon forms.

That will be all for now. I'll be taking a moment to rest after all that, but I'm certain that the next demo won't take this long to release.
